Solo run?

Joan emailed me yesterday saying that she was having bad abdominal pain and had been up all night. She went to the doctor and they didn’t know what was wrong with her. They gave her an ultrasound and she’s waiting for the results. She said that if it’s a bug, she’ll run tomorrow but if it’s something more serious, like an issue with her gall bladder, she won’t. I will admit, for a minute, I thought it might just be nerves but she’s trained for this and has no reason to doubt herself. So I’m hoping she feels better today. I’ve run several races by myself before. I know that I can but for the past three months, we’ve been in this together and it will just feel weird to not run it together. So, we’ll see what happens, I suppose.

I’m supposed to go to the Expo today at the GA Dome to pick up my number. It’s raining pretty hard right now and has been for a couple days but the forecast has been assuring me that it’s supposed to only be partly cloudy tomorrow. Really, the only thing that scares me about running in the rain is the possibility of my ipod malfunctioning.

I made a playlist for the run. Here it is:

Anyone have any additional suggestions? Do you guys have, for a lack of a better word, power songs? Like a song that when it comes on just gives you a surge of energy? Mine is, and this is very weird if you know the band, Saeglopur by Sigur Ros. I have no idea why, but that song just pumps me up.
